Getting ready for your first NDIS plan meeting
Your first planning meeting can feel like a lot, especially when the language is new. The good news is that you do not need to have everything figured out. You just need to be able to talk about your life and what would make it easier.
Before the meeting
Jot down how a normal week looks for you. Where do things go smoothly, and where do you need a hand? Think about your goals too, big or small, from cooking your own meals to getting to a weekly activity.
What to bring
- Any reports from people who support you now
- A list of the supports you already use
- The goals you would like your plan to work towards
Questions worth asking
It is completely fair to ask how funding works, what is and is not covered, and what happens if your needs change. A good provider will answer in plain English and never rush you.
If you would like a hand preparing, that is exactly the kind of thing we are here for. There is no cost to have a chat and no obligation to sign anything.
